The Emu is a ratite, a flightless bird, and is native of Australia. Emu's are related to other flightless birds which has the ability to run 30 to 60 kms and can swim.
Emu adapts to almost any climatic condition quickly.
Emu bird grows up to 6 feet in height and 40-60 kgs in weight and can live upto 30 years.
The female bird which is larger than the male one can hatch up to 40 eggs per year.

Today, emus are transitioning from a breeder industry to a commercial industry. Their meat, oil, hide, feathers and other products are all in increasing in demand. The increasing demand for Emu products makes it, livestock investment opportunity of the nineties and beyond.
1. EMU MEAT
Emu meat is an ideal source of protein. It is a red meat that is low in cholesterol and high in protein as compared to beef or pork, with fat content comparable to chicken or turkey.
2. EMU EGG
They're a wonderful rich green color. The female emu will lay one egg every 3-4 days during this season. One emu egg is roughly the equivalent of 8-12 medium chicken eggs. Emu egg contains less fat which is good for heart. The egg weighs from 500 gms to 750 gms.
3. EMU SKIN
We get 8 – 12 sq. ft. skin and it is perfectly fit for designer's apparels, handbags, boots and other accessories.
4. EMU OIL
